DIY Kids: Mud Kitchen

Child holding mud and worms.
Let your children dig deep and play in a mud kitchen! Mud is an amazing, versatile, imaginative substance for young children.

All you need are some old kitchen tools – small pots and pans, muffin tins, measuring cups, and spoons, etc. If you have yard space, you can set aside a small area for gathering/ making mud. With a patio space or terrace, you could use a bucket or tubtrug with some soil and water. Scale-up and create a cafe set up – with shelves and countertops. Let the imagination run wild as your little ones practice culinary delights – such as cookies, and soups, a recent favorite from my young friend Josephine is strawberry and vinegar cake.
