Join us for an edible conversation between a farm, a chef, and the community.

Our Community Table series continues into the Summer with a new class of world-class chefs and a seasonal palette of fruits, vegetables, herbs, berries and flowers. By bringing these culinary artists back to the source, we give them an opportunity to connect with new ingredients, find fresh inspiration in our bioregion’s historic foodways, and discover the rewards of relationship with the land.

CHEF COLIN WHITBREAD, EXEC CHEF, OWNER/ CO-FOUNDER OF FIISH

Colin Whitbread is a sushi chef, surfer, and artist with a passion for the ocean. He has operated an ethically sourced
sustainable sushi business for over 15 years, catering to high-profile clients, including Dr. Phil, Jessica Alba, and
Magic Johnson. Earning him a reputation for providing expert sushi catering dining experiences.
In 2021, together with his team, Colin co-founded Fiish, a sustainable sushi restaurant located in Culver City’s
Platform LA. The restaurant specializes in serving sustainably sourced, dry-aged fish and has received recognition for
its innovative approach to sushi and dedication to sustainability in sourcing. Fiish has been featured in various
publications, including Eater LA, The Infatuation, and Thrillist, earning its spot on many must-try restaurant lists.
Colin’s love for the ocean has greatly influenced his culinary career, inspiring him to become a leader in sustainable
seafood practices. His focus on locally sourced fish and dry-aging techniques sets his sushi apart and reflects his
dedication to responsible and sustainable seafood practices. His approach to sushi includes playful flavor twists,
surprising traditional sushi go-ers and delighting them alike. Colin continues to inspire others with his passion for
food, the environment, and the ocean, creating a dining experience that is both delicious and responsible.

 

CHEF CODY REQUEJO, EXEC CHEF, OWNER OF FIISH

Chef Cody Requejo is a passionate chef and experienced surfer with over three decades of culinary expertise. His
love for sushi ignited in the mid-80s, and since then, he has honed his skills through various apprenticeships and
prestigious positions, excelling in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Chef Cody is renowned for his commitment to sustainable aquaculture and responsible sourcing practices. Through
strong partnerships with purveyors and farmers, he has successfully introduced top-quality Baja Kanpachi directly to
Los Angeles, establishing himself as a trailblazer in the industry. His dedication to sustainability has earned him
recognition as an ambassador for leading aquaculture companies.
As co-owner of FIISH in Culver City, Chef Cody joins forces with Chef Colin Whitbread, sharing a passion for sushi
and a commitment to sourcing exclusively sustainable seafood. Together, they create an exceptional culinary
experience that showcases their expertise and dedication to environmental responsibility.

 

 

FAQ

DIETARY PREFERENCES
Community Table dinners are fixed course, family-style meals. As such, we cannot accommodate every dietary restriction. Please email us with any dietary needs.  We will try to accommodate for vegetarian/vegan needs, gluten intolerance, and seafood/shellfish allergies but let us know if there are any specific dietary restrictions for any of your guests.  We will do our best to accommodate anything beyond the 3 listed. If there are any life threatening allergies we recommend emailing before purchasing tickets.

SCHEDULE
Community Table Dinners begin at 6pm, when we’ll start with drinks and a farm tour. We appreciate timeliness as the dinner is coursed intentionally with just one seating. Dinners typically end around 10pm.

REFUNDS
We can offer refunds up to one week before the dinner.  In the case that you need to cancel last minute, we would be happy to work with you to pass along your tickets to friends or family members.
