Once a month we lead our tiniest farmers through a series of delightful multi-sensory stations based on our main initiatives Eat, Grow and Make. Toddlers and their parents partake in daily farm routines including garden care and a rotating selection of songs, stories, and art projects.

This month’s activity – Seed Saving:

Seeds have been saved and traded among neighbors for the past 10,000 years, creating spectacular global agricultural diversity. By saving seeds, you contribute to the essential tradition of raising unique crops that are naturally suited to your climate and bioregion! Through the simple and fun act of saving seeds, not only are you cultivating biodiversity in your own backyard and supporting a resilient food system, you also get to enjoy the rainbow of flavors and beauty found in regionally-specific fruits and vegetables. Take home your very own packet of seeds from the garden!
