Due to the scale of this meal, we are unable to accommodate special dietary requirements. As sourcing and collaboration is ongoing, menu details are not currently available. However, the chefs intend to create a mostly vegetarian meal featuring elements from our vibrant local fisheries.
Dinner will be held out in the field. We recommend wearing closed toed shoes with low or no heels, farm casual dress, and bringing multiple layers to bundle up as the sun goes down.

Celebrating a decade of transformation
Green Feast celebrates our community of culinary leaders, dedicated purveyors, and passionate farmers alongside our closest supporters. Now for our 13th Green Feast, we join together once again to share a beautiful meal at sunset. This year, on September 7th, we honor over a decade of culinary creativity and transformation with a women-led event and thank the chefs, farmers, purveyors, and community who made it possible.
In one evening, we express the values of our organization and model the possibilities in our ecological food future. This celebration builds awareness around the diversity and abundance of growers around us and represents our commitment to bringing sustainable food to the residents of the community and people in our region and paving the way for a new generation of chefs and farmers alike, working together to build an abundant food future.
Each year, Green Feast provides a unique opportunity for leaders in the farm-to-table movement to share their inspiration with our community. As we celebrate our 13th Green Feast on our founding property, we are proud to share a meal in honor of women. Chef Jennifer Sherman of Chez Panisse will lead a powerhouse of incredibly talented women. This will truly be a night to remember.
Jennifer grew up in Berkley and graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in the History of Art. She went on to attend the California Culinary Academy and Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. She cooked at Chez Panisse, both in the Café and Restaurant, for most of the 1990s until she left to raise her daughter, Catherine. She returned in 2008 to become General Manager. Jennifer is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier and serves on the Board of Directors of The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano. In July 2017 she assumed the additional role of chef at Chez Panisse, cooking twice weekly in the Restaurant while maintaining her position as General Manager.
Cathy McKnight, the executive chef of Eilo’s Kitchen, is a food forager who seeks out the highest quality ingredients from local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. Focusing on hyper-local ingredients ensures Eilo’s diners experience the bounty of the region and the freshness of local ingredients.
Vicki Marks, Founding Green Feast Chair
In 2008, when Evan, Vicki’s son and Executive Director of The Ecology Center, asked Mom for help in putting together a fundraiser, the idea for Green Feast was born. Since then, Vicki has led eleven Green Feasts as Chair Women of the event raising well over $1M for The Ecology Center. Vicki’s dedication to detail and leadership has built a legacy for not only The Ecology Center but our Southern California culinary community.
