Our incredible community of volunteers never cease to amaze us. We are constantly in awe of their commitment to uphold everything from our mission and vision as an organization, to the state of our facility.
Thanks to our incredible network of over 1000 volunteers, we are able to continue doing the important work year-round.
We encourage groups to get involved on a deeper level by coming to the center to give back and show support by lending a hand so we can collectively come together and create a culture that gives more than it takes.
The Ecology Center hosts open volunteer days weekly on Wednesdays in San Juan Capistrano and Thursdays in Encinitas. The volunteer community gets to work tackling the different jobs the farm presents. Some weeks we are lending our farmers a hand in the field; we might be weeding rows of beans or harvesting endless strawberries. Other weeks, we spend our time working on our front courtyard, watering the gardens in our educational areas, thinning our fruit trees, or prepping our pantry items for the Farm Stand. The jobs are endless and diverse; each week presents a unique way to dig in!
Our weekly volunteer days are a chance to learn about what goes into running an ecological oasis and organic farm. It is a way to engage with hands-on stewardship, to meet with community, and to become a working part of The Ecology Center family!
